Sgt. Lesley Kirkman brings more than 24 years of law enforcement experience, with a career grounded in operational service, instruction, and mentorship. Her background includes assignments in the Criminal Intelligence Unit, Basic Law Enforcement Academy, Bike Patrol, and Uniform Patrol, providing a broad perspective on the realities of public safety work.
As a General Instructor for over 14 years, Sgt. Kirkman specializes in Firearms and Compliance and Control Techniques. She is also an Academy Mentor and Peer Support member, reflecting her long-standing commitment to professional development and officer wellness.
For more than eight years, Sgt. Kirman has served as a trusted subject matter resource for officers navigating the North Carolina retirement system, helping colleagues better understand benefits, timelines, and decision points that significantly impact long-term outcomes.
While rooted in law enforcement experience, her instruction is designed to support all public safety professionals, recognizing the shared challenges and career considerations across all disciplines.
